Robert and Teresa Nilsson, along with their daughter Katrina, live and work in Sebastian, Florida. Robert and Teresa have both been designing and creating their unique and distinctive designs for 25 years now, and their daughter has recently begun to learn the family business. All of their jewelry is made either at their Sebastian, Florida shop, or in the shop of their custom built motor home.
Robert, after graduating from the University of Florida with a Bachelors Degree in 1985, has furthered his education by attending several well known art schools including Penland School of Art, Penland, N.C., Peters Valley Craft Center, New Jersey, and The Atlantic Center for the Arts, New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Originally from Sweden, Robert’s simple, clean designs and style are further influenced by his Scandinavian heritage.
Robert and Teresa share in designing some of their pieces while others are individual creations. Having been successful making jewelry mostly for direct retail sales at art shows in the past, and after winning numerous awards, they now have a line of jewelry available to galleries and fine shops. Teresa’s jewelry is strongly influenced by the distinctive flowing lines of Kris Bell’s designs, formerly of Figg jewelry. Kris remains available to mentor and assist with production techniques and design creation. Although production machinery such as hand presses and custom made dies are employed for some pieces, all the pieces require considerable hand work, and almost all designs are fabricated with no cast components.
