Michael Williams is a contemporary painter currently living and working in Miami Fl. He was born in 1986 in South Florida and starting painting towards the end of his college career at the age of 22. He received his BFA in painting from the University of Central Florida where he worked mainly in large-scale figural abstractions. Through a fluid progression, he now works in watercolors, where he combines contemporary realism with his minimalist sensibility. This has lead to the stark yet delicate depictions of candid and often amusing observations he paints today. His work is held in numerous private collections internationally. In 2013 he founded MILL, a project space in Wynwood. In 2015, working with other artists, he co-founded The Laundromat Art Space a 5,000-sqft building in Little Haiti that houses an artist residency program, a gallery for innovative curatorial exhibitions.
