I am a totally self-taught artist…or as I call it a “trial and error” artist. I spent 21+ years as an Emergency Room nurse. So, in this iteration of my grown-up life, I longed to create beauty, joy and, most importantly, humor. The world needs less shouting and more laughing. It seemed logical for someone who went from a high stress and angst job to ‘playing in the mud.’ When someone looks at my work, I want them to smile and even laugh out loud! I want them to relate to the expression on the faces of the sculpture, such as Perfect Moment as she looks up to catch the last rays of sunshine.
I do not use tools nor models. My hands and fingers are my tools. I love the feel and texture of clay. Sometimes the clays have a mind of their own. But it’s all good.
My work is all over the world being enjoyed by collectors large and small. It was included in an exhibition in Eastern Europe.
