Biography:
Douglas and Renee have been blowing glass together for 26 years. They began as students at the University of Wisconsin River Falls working in studio glass. In 1996, the couple learned of their family connection to the lineage of Sigwarth glassblowers in Germany. Douglas and Renee built their own studio and formed “Sigwarth Glass” in 2001. They have their work in noteworthy collections around the country, as well as major installations with The Museum of Wisconsin Art, Capitol Lakes Condominium, Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, Olbrich Botanic Gardens, and The Museum of Art and Whimsy.
