A national of Laos, I have been working since 2001 out of New York and Secaucus. Before, in Vientiane, Laos, I’ve started weaving and opened a workshop with weavers from the city outskirts. Yarns used have always been hand-spun and naturally dyed. I’ve created various textiles from silk, cotton, and hemp, such as scarves, shawls, and wall-hangings to be woven on a traditional loom and later designed into fashion items like coats, jackets, shirts, and kimonos. I was privileged to have received awards for outstanding design at numerous Art and Craft shows, most recently, Best of Show and First Place in Fiber at the Summer Fair, Cincinnati, OH, an Award of Excellence at the Artisphere in Greenville, SC, the Coconut Grove Arts Festival, Miami (First Place in Fiber in 2018 and 19), the Armonk Art Festival (Best of Show in 2017), the American Craft Exposition, Chicago, the Lakefront Arts Festival, Milwaukee, WI, and the Winter Park Arts Festival, FL.
