South Florida native and sculptor Gary Traczyk is a firefighter/paramedic for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and one of the few polished stainless steel kinetic sculptors in the world. He attended New World School of the Arts, College in Florence, Italy and holds two Bachelor degrees and three Associates of Arts degrees with a minor in art. Gary believes in giving back through art and is often a guest speaker at Palmetto Middle School. He shows at SOFA Chicago, Art Hamptons and various other shows.
Raw stainless steel is cut, sanded, ground and polished before bending geometric forms. The forms are then balanced on one another and polished again before the final balancing act of each piece that moves with a gentle touch.
